2021–2022 Season

Hard Work Bears Fruit

Our Reflection

This year, we were thrilled to return to in-person competitions! After a full year of virtual preparation, we stepped back into the workshop with a new level of confidence in our building and coding skills. We also grew as a team, welcoming another new member into the fold.

This season's theme is "Cargo Connect". We explored the shipping industry and the exhaustion faced by long-haul drivers. To help them, we developed the Drive-Relay App, which allows multiple drivers to split a long journey into segments. By coordinating these relays, each driver can complete their share and return home daily rather than being on the road for days.

For robot design, this season was all about custom engineering. Unlike the first season when we copied other's design, we designed and built our own unique chassis from scratch and created a series of multi-functional attachments to tackle missions. As we worked, our individual strengths began to shine more clearly than ever. Some of us emerged as intuitive builders, others found their calling in complex coding, and some became our "detail experts," keeping the team organized and on track.

By embracing these diverse skills and putting them to good use, we achieved an incredible "straight victory" run— winning Championship and 1st Place of Robot Performance at Regionals and Super Regionals. At the State, we claimed the 1st Place in both Robot Performance and Project Award. It was a rewarding experience to see our hard work and preparation finally bear fruit on the competition floor.
