2025–2026 Season - Team Brick Strom

From Bricks to Breakthroughs

Our Reflection

They say every great journey begins with a single step—or in our case, a single LEGO brick and a lot of confused stares. As a rookie team of ten elementary students in grades 3–5, we started the season meeting just three hours a week, quickly discovering that FIRST LEGO League meant a mountain of work: coding complex programs, redesigning robot attachments again and again, researching archaeology, and creating our educational board game, ArchaeoQuest. At first, many of us felt overwhelmed.

But things began to change as the season progressed. After our first tournaments, we started to see how our effort translated into real results. The turning point came at the Super Regional competition. When we were announced as winners of both the Champion’s Award and 1st Place in Robot Performance, everything clicked— we realized our hardwork was truly paying off.

Along the way, we learned the power of teamwork. Some teammates were natural builders with endless design ideas, others were problem-solvers who improved our robot attachments through constant iteration, and some were confident presenters who shared our project with clarity and poise. By combining our strengths—whether merging robot designs, dividing project tasks, or supporting each other through long practices—we grew stronger as a team.

The result was a dream come true: we won the State Championship. More importantly, the journey taught us perseverance, collaboration, and the belief that with determination and teamwork, anything is possible.

Now we look ahead to the World Festival. We are continuing to refine our robot runs, creating robot games for outreach events, and preparing souvenirs to welcome teams from around the world. The season has already been unforgettable—and we are excited to see what the future holds.

Our Project - ArchaeoQuest Board Game

We created an educational board game called AchaeoQuest which educates people about archaeology in a fun way. We received positive feedback from players and professional in Board Game Design.
